(ODON) - Indiana State Police say one person was taken to the hospital Monday night when a Southwest Medical Ambulance struck a horse and buggy near Odon.
According to police, the ambulance was traveling south on County Road 900 East with its emergency lights on, but no siren, taking a patient to the hospital.
19-year-old Travis Wagler of Odon, who was also southbound driving a horse and buggy, failed to see the ambulance and attempted to turn left onto County Road 975 North.
The driver of the ambulance, 38-year-old Dawn Wagoner of Odon, did not have enough time to avoid the buggy and struck it, knocking it on its side.
Wagler and another passengers of the buggy received minor cuts and bruises. A female in the buggy was taken to Daviess Community Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
No one on board the ambulance, including the patient, was injured.
The ambulance had damage to the right front and the buggy had extensive damage.
The horse was dazed but not injured.
