Two Arrested After Police Receive Tip Of Drug Activity

(BEDFORD) - Two Bedford men were arrested after a Lawrence County Police investigation.

On Thursday afternoon, a confidential informant contacted the Lawrence County Drug Task Force saying 21-year-old Dillon Burton was selling Xanax bars and prescription drugs.

"While police investigated the allegations, it was learned Burton was wanted on a warrant for armed robbery," says Sheriff Mike Branham. "After a controlled buy was done police requested a search warrant for the home where the buy took place (621 14th St.)."

Officers kept surveillance on the house until the warrant was obtained. During the search of the home police found drug paraphernalia that field tested positive for meth.

Police arrested Burton on charges of dealing a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of Schedule IV controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance. He was also wanted on a warrant for robbery.

The homeowner was also arrested. 47-year-old Shawn Wilson was charged with possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance.
