(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after Bedford Police found him intoxicated and he resisted officers.
On Monday night officers were called to the 2000 block of I Street after a report of an intoxicated man fighting with family members.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, 47-year-old Daniel Yarberry left the home before police arrived.
"Officers found him sitting on the front porch of a home down the block," Chief Parsley says. "When officers talked to him they found his speech was slurred. Officers asked Mr. Yarberry to remove his hands out of his pockets for officer safety and he refused. So they asked him again and again he refused."
Officers removed Yarberry's hands from his pocket and that is when he pulled away from the officers and began struggling with them.
Officers arrested Yarberry on charges of public intoxication, resisting arrest by force.
He fought with officers again as they were placing him in the police car.
