(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man has agreed to plead guilty to child molesting charges in a negotiated plea agreement.
Michael Williams on Feb.13th withdrew his previously entered plea of not guilty and pleaded guilty to Level 4 felony charges of child molesting and sexual misconduct with a minor and failure to register as a sex or violent offender. A charge of child molesting, and a count of sexual misconduct with a minor and a count of failure to register as a sex or violent offender will be dropped as part of the deal.
Williams, 38, is being represented by Martinsville attorney Glen E. Koch II. Michelle Woodward is the prosecuting attorney.
Superior Court II Judge William Sleva has taken the plea agreement under advisement. A sentencing hearing is scheduled March 19th at 2:30 p.m. and the court has allowed one hour for hearing.
Williams was arrested in October 2017, after police say he molested a then 15-year-old girl multiple times between August 2014 and May 2017. The teen told police, Williams would touch her under her clothes and come into her room at night and had performed sexual acts on her, including intercourse.
