(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police Department is hiring police officers after three of their finest retired.
Major Rob Herr, Capt. Jim Lindsey and Officer Raquel Turner are retiring.
Herr, who also serves as Lawrence County Coroner, has been with the department for more than 22 years and is leaving to take a position to head security at IU Health Hospital.
Turner, is the first female officer to retire from the department. She was hired March 7, 1998. Turner is taking a position with Community Corrections at the Lawrence County Probation Department.
Captain James Lindsey retired to pursue other interests.
The department is looking for someone who has the desire to be a servant for the community, provide for public safety, protect individuals and represent the City of Bedford in a professional and ethical manner.
Application deadline is March 4th at 4 p.m.
