(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was injured in a fire on Wednesday morning.
Bloomington Fire Department was alerted to the blaze at 7:37 a.m. in the 1200 block of South Lincoln Street.
Firefighters found the male laying face down in the kitchen area of the duplex. Firefighters removed the man, who was conscious, from the building and he was transported by ambulance to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment.
The male owned three cats and one was found by Bloomington Animal Control uninjured.
The fire was believed to be accidental, but the cause remains under investigation.
Firefighters were on the scene for two hours.
