(BLOOMINGTON) - The Bloomington Police Department Teen Academy will be held July 23-27.
This program is designed to introduce teens age 13 - 17 to law enforcement in general and specifically the Bloomington Police Department. Each day will run from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Public Safety Training Center located at 3230 South Walnut Street.
The academy will be based on lectures, demonstrations and interactive events designed to entertain, engage, and instruct teenagers.
The course will be taught by a number of officers ranging in age and experience from senior officers with more than 25 years experience to brand new officers who have just completed training.
The course will be limited to 60 students. The cost for the Teen Academy is $25 and scholarships are available.

You can download the application and waiver by clicking here. You may also pick up the registration and information packet at the Bloomington Police Department, 220 E. Third Street. Registration forms must be returned to the Bloomington Police Department no later than the first Friday in July.
