(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington teenager was detained on an intimidation charge after threatening to get a gun and shoot a teenager in Greene County.
According to Bloomington Police Capt. Steve Kellams, the 17-year-old Bloomington High School South student had been arguing with a Greene County teen on social media and threatened to go home, get a gun and shoot the student.
Police were called after the 17-year-old left school without permission at noon on Monday.
Officers found the 17-year-old in the 2100 block of South Rockport Road and was detained.
Capt. Kellams says the teen was referred to the county's juvenile probation department. The teenager's mother surrendered her .380-caliber pistol to police for safekeeping.
