(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman called police after she says she was attacked while walking home from work in the 1800 block of West Third Street early Friday morning.
The woman says she was attacked between 2:30 and 2:45 a.m. while walking home from her place of work on East 10th Street.
The woman says a man approached her on the railroad tracks, north of the American Legion on West Third Street.
She told police that the man hit her on the back of the head, shoved her to the ground and attempted to rip her pants off, but got spooked and ran. The woman then ran home.
She later went to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment for a head injury. A detective was alerted about the attack by hospital staff.
