(BROWN CO.) - The Brown County school board will take its final vote this week on a $3 million bond resolution to improve security and technology at schools.
Some of the money will go toward securing the front entrances at the intermediate and junior high schools. They're the only two schools without systems that require visitors to be buzzed in.
Superintendent Laura Hammack told Barbara Brosher of Indiana Public Media that talks about renovations began more than a year ago.
Hammack says the corporation has debt dropping off, allowing it to pursue a bond issuance.
Once the school board gives its final approval, the corporation will work with a contractor to draft plans for the renovations. Changes to the entrances could be complete as early as this summer.
