(BEDFORD) - A program on pollinators and wildflowers will be presented on Tuesday, February 27, at 6 p.m. at Wilson Park Shelter House.
The program is the seventh program in the Bedford Park Outdoor Series. Evan Smith with the Natural Resource Conservation Service will discuss how you can start your own pollinator project.
This free program at the historic Wilson Park Shelter House will include what species of wildflowers are recommended and what pollinators you might expect to see in local gardens. Smith will recommend when and where to plant your native flowers to maximize butterflies, moths, and other pollinators. If you enjoy nature, and doing your part to help encourage birds and butterflies, you'll not want to miss this program.
The shelter house is heated, but watch the Bedford Park Department website or Facebook page if the weather is bad to check for cancellation. Please RSVP for the program at 812-275-5692 so we have enough handouts and chairs set up.
Mark your calendar for Tuesday, March 27, when the Outdoor Program Series will feature a program on the care and maintenance of fruit trees, given by Richard Beckort, Purdue Extension-Jackson County.
