(BLOOMINGTON) - Grassroots Conservatives will hold a meeting on Wednesday, February 28th in room 1B at the Monroe Co. Public Library, 303 E Kirkwood Av, Bloomington. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be David Lantz, author of The Unraveling of We the People.
David Lantz will answer what were the original beliefs that facilitated the process we call the melting pot and caused a diversity of people groups to join together to become one nation, under God. He will address what has caused the demise of the melting pot approach to teaching civics education.
Why is the American ideal of "We, the People," unraveling? What was the original reference point which facilitated the process we called "the melting pot" and caused a diversity of people groups to join together to become one nation, under God? And how did the new multicultural "salad bowl" come to replace that melting pot, resulting in a disparate stratification of many people groups all clamoring for, but never finding, equality?
David is an adjunct professor of economics, political science, and statistics for Indiana Wesleyan University, as well as the University of Phoenix and Ivy Tech Community College. Since 2010, he produced and teaches a grassroots seminar on Run Like Lincoln - The Art of Grassroots Politics for the American Family Association of Indiana.
He has also written Think Like Jesus, Lead Like Moses: Leadership Lessons from the Wilderness Church. He wrote two Christian historical novels, The Brotherhood of the Scroll and The Sword of the Scroll. Lantz has a Bachelor's degree from Butler and a master's degree from Indiana University.
Free admission, pizza, snacks, and beverages.
