(BEDFORD) - A Shoals man was arrested after police received a call of two suspicious males at the First Assembly Church of God at 27th and Illinois streets early Tuesday morning.
"The caller reported that two males were running around the east side of the church," says Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley.
When officers arrived they found 37-year-old Thomas Robbins hiding behind an air conditioning unit and another male hiding behind another unit.
Police arrested Robbins after finding that he had a cigarette package that contained crystal meth and a baggie with marijuana that he dropped by the air conditioning unit.
"Inside the baggie of marijuana, officers found a piece of paper with a suboxone strip on it that Mr. Robbins did not have a prescription for," Chief Parsley added.
The second male, who did not have drugs on his person, was released and told not to return to the church.
Robbins was arrested on charges of possession of meth, marijuana and a narcotic drug.
