(BEDFORD) - Duke Energy volunteered for the 2nd year in a row to help the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County prepare Wiley Youth Park for the upcoming Youth Baseball and Softball leagues.
"This is the second year for them to take the time out of their day to come help do electrical work or anything we need help getting done that we need their resources for here at the park," said Kendall Reid, Athletic Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County.
Duke helped install a new fence on a field that is undergoing renovation, changed light bulbs in light poles and hung banners with the use of a bucket truck.
Youth Baseball and Softball registration is still open until March 30th. The Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County will remain open on March 30th until 6 p.m. for registration.
Leagues are open for ages 3 -13.
New this year there will be a co-ed league for the 3-4 age group. This group will not participate in games, but focus on the fundamentals of the game.
The program is also taking registrations for the 13 age group. In past years there were not enough players registered to create the league. If there are not enough players this year, the 13 year old league will not play.
Parents can also register their athlete online at this link: http://bgclawco.website.siplay.com/.
