(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after his 3-year-old toddler was found running around Seminar Park Sunday night.
Bloomington Police arrested 33-year-old Anthony Sykes at 8:13 p.m. on charges of neglect of a dependent and public intoxication. He is being held on a $2,500 cash bond.
Police were called to the park after the child got close to the roadway. Sykes refused to identify himself or his son when police arrived at the park.
The boy's mother told police she had dropped off the toddler with Sykes around 5:30 p.m. for a two-hour visit and was to pick the child up at 7:30 at the Monroe County Public Library, but Skyes didn't show with the child.
The child was released to the mother.
