(MITCHELL) - A pregnant woman complained of stomach pain after a two-vehicle crash on Yockey Road on Friday night.
According to a Lawrence County Sheriff's Department report, 23-year-old Mallory Baker of Mitchell was traveling west on Yockey Road in a 2001 Kia Sephia. At the same time, 35-year-old Jessie Jackson was traveling south in a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer on Juliet Lane and had stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Juliet Lane and Yockey Road.
Police say Baker pulled onto Yockey Road, attempting to turn east from Juliet Lane when he struck Baker's Kia.
Baker was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Her two passengers Adam Swartz and a 2-year-old boy, both of Mitchell, were not injured during the incident.
Jackson was arrested on a preliminary charge of driving with a suspended driver's license with a prior conviction and cited for failure to yield the right of way.
