(WASHINGTON CO.) - A Washington County jury recently awarded a Seymour couple $800,284.24 in a civil lawsuit filed in Washington Circuit Court.
Jordan Richart of the Seymour Tribune reports that Mark and Diane King were awarded that amount to be paid by their insurer, All American Insurance Co., after a week-long jury trial that ended March 2.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the Kings on Oct. 22, 2013, by Seymour attorney Roger Pardieck. Attorney Matt Schad of New Albany served as co-counsel.
The lawsuit stemmed from a wreck Dec. 21, 2012, which occurred as a vehicle driven by Mark King was involved in a wreck with Daniel Elkins of Vallonia on State Road 135 in Washington County. The wreck, which left Mark King injured, occurred after Elkins lost control of his vehicle and hit King, according to court records.
