(BLOOMINGTON) - A 13-year-old boy was charged with intimidation Sunday after the made threats that he would bring guns to school.
Bloomington Police Capt. Steve Kellams says the Tri-North student didn't have any access to guns, but admitted to making the threats to two female friends and on social media stating he would carry out a mass shooting at the school on Monday.
Capt. Kellams says the boy, who suffers from serious mental health issues has been suicidal in the past because he is bullied at school. He was transported to a secure facility for a mental evaluation.
Police searched the boy's home and found no guns and say he had no access to firearms. The boy told police he hoped to get the gun on the internet.
