(BEDFORD) - A man and woman were arrested on Friday at the Mark III Motel after police went looking for a stolen gun and found the two were dealing marijuana and had meth.
Bedford Police arrested 22-year-old Sean McGill of Bedford on charges of possession of meth, dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and visiting a common nuisance and 23-year-old Shanda Garland of Heltonville is facing charges of possession of meth, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.
According to a Lawrence County Superior Court I probable cause affidavit at 4 p.m. Friday, Bedford Police Department officers went to the motel to recover a stolen firearm. Police had received information that McGill had stolen the gun and had it in his motel room.
When police went to the motel, Garland answered the door and gave police permission to search the room.
Officers found baggies containing marijuana and a digital scale, a Crown Royal bag on a nightstand containing a case for glasses. In the case, police found a pen and a smoking device that contained a crystal-like residue that field tested positive for meth. Officers also found a cigarette case containing a pipe with meth residue.
The affidavit does not state if police found the stolen gun.
McGill and Garland remain in the jail on bonds set at $7,500 surety, or $755 cash.
