(BLOOMINGTON) - The Bloomington Police Department is attempting to locate a 34 -year- old Brandon Michael Richardson.
He is wanted for brutally battering, strangling and stabbing a 29-year-old woman over the course of three days at a residence in the 2600 block of South Rogers St. in Bloomington.
Detective Lieutenant John Kovach says on Wednesday, at 2:12 p.m., detectives were called to Monroe Hospital after a female went there seeking treatment for her injuries resulting of a domestic battery.
The victim told detectives that on Monday night, Richardson began yelling and battering her over relationship problems.
The assault continued over the course of the next two days.
During that time, Richardson punched, kicked and struck the victim with a metal bar causing severe injuries, says Lt. Kovach.
"Those injuries consist of multiple fractures to the face including a broken nose and eye socket," he added. "She also has broken vertebrae in her neck along with broken ribs. She sustained a crushed hand along with countless contusions all over her body."
At various times during the incident the victim was strangled and confined in a room of the house with a dog leash around her neck. The female also had multiple stab wounds to her head, back and legs.
She was finally able to go to a neighbor's house for help after Richardson left the house Wednesday morning.
The victim's injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time and she is being treated at St. Vincent hospital in Indianapolis.
"We are currently looking for Brandon Richardson who is believed to be armed and dangerous," says Detective Kovach.
