(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police are searching for a man who robbed the CVS Pharmacy in the 1000 block of North College Avenue at 10:41 a.m. Tuesday.
The man took two bottles of Adderall after telling the pharmacists he was armed with a gun and needed the medication.
According to Bloomington Capt. Steve Kellams, a white man with dark hair told the staff he was suffering from an attention-deficit disorder medication, but refused to give his name or show identification.
The man then said he had a gun, demanded the medication and if he didn't get it he would shoot people if they pushed the emergency alert button, but no gun was ever displayed during the robbery.
Employees put the prescription medication into a basket on the counter and the man took two bottles and left.
Police say the man is described as being in his late 30s, 6-feet, 4-inches tall and spoke in a very high-pitched voice. He was wearing a gray hooded-sweatshirt underneath a tan trench coat, blue jeans, black tennis shoes and a gray toboggan-style hat.
Capt. Kellams says officers found the hat and trench coat discarded in the area of 14th Street and College Avenue.
