(NASHVILLE) - A Brown County man was sentenced Friday to three years in prison after pleading guilty to child solicitation in a negotiated plea deal.
According to Brown County Circuit Court records, police began investigating 46-year-old Jody Jaggers, of 9814 Short Chute Road, in August 2015 after the victim filed a protective order against him in Vigo County.
The victim told police Jaggers had abused her for several years starting when she was 12-years-old and that the crimes happened in Brown, Johnson, Lawrence and Monroe counties.
He was arrested on Oct. 2, 2015 on a Vigo County warrant for identity deception and invasion of privacy after he created a fake Facebook account under a false name to contact the victim. He pleaded guilty to those crimes in July 2016 and was sentenced to serve 20 days in jail and was placed on two-and-half years probation. He violated his probation and a warrant was filed on Jan. 4, 2018.
Jaggers was arrested again on March 21, 2017, on charges of sexual misconduct with a minor and child solicitation in Brown County. The charge of sexual misconduct with a minor was dropped in the plea deal. He plead guilty to the crime of child solicitation on March 26th.
