(DUGGAR) - A Dugger farmer was hospitalized after a Hummer collided with his tractor on State Road 54 on Friday afternoon.
According to a press release by Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cotton, officers were alerted to the crash around 1 p.m.
When police arrived at the scene they found that the Hummer, driven by Wacey Robertson of Sandborn, rolled on its left side and was blocking both lanes of State Road 54.
Police say Robertson had been distracted and did not slow down as his SUV came upon the slower moving farm tractor.
The farmer, Dale Cullison of Dugger, suffered serious injuries during the incident and was transported to Regional Hospital by ambulance.
Robertson declined medical attention at the scene.
Sheriff Cottom wants to caution drivers that there will be increased farm machinery on roads throughout the county over the next few months and that it is imperative that drivers pay attention and slow down.
