(ORLEANS) - This year will be the Orleans Dogwood Festival’s 50th Anniversary and the people of Orleans are going all out to make this year’s festival extra special.
Local residents from Orange County and its immediate surrounding counties, with special emphasis on artists from Orleans, are invited to be involved in the festivities by showing artwork in this year's Dogwood Art Walk. Those who have shown artwork during previous years are encouraged to re-exhibit the artwork this year to commemorate the artistic history of our past. Current artwork from artistic residents is also eagerly encouraged, as we hope to have a show which merges the creativity and talent of the past with that of the present.
Exhibitors, age 18 and upward, are asked to bring a piece of artwork, with a display easel, to the Orleans Town Hall on East Price Avenue no later than Tues., April 24, during business hours. Please include your contact information with the artwork. Exhibitors may retrieve their artwork during viewing hours on the last day of the art walk, or pick it up after the festival at the Town Hall, April 30 through May 4, rom 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
This year's Dogwood Art Walk will again be held in the lobby of the Orleans Christian Church Unity Hall on South Second Street, April 26 and 27 from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and is planned to continue being displayed through Sat., April 28, 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Visitors may cast their vote, along with a quarter, for the People's Choice award, which will be determined by 6 p.m. Friday the 27th.
