(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police are looking for a person who shot a man twice during a party at 409 South Walnut Street on Sunday during a Little 500 party.
There were so many people at the party that it spilled over into an adjacent parking lot and beyond.
Police were called to the party at the event space of Bedräk Cafe just after 2 a.m. after a Monroe County Sheriff's deputy heard gunshots.
When police arrived they found a 20-year-old black man from Indianapolis who had been shot twice in his lower body.
The man was transported by ambulance to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
Police are not releasing the man's identity, but did say he is not an IU student.
Police shut down the party and continue to investigate the incident.
Anyone with information about the incident are asked to call the Bloomington Police Department at (812) 339-4477.
