(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was killed and another seriously injured after a two-vehicle collision on Mitchell Road near the Recycling Center.
The accident occurred around 1:45 p.m.
According to a Bedford Police report, rescue workers administered life-saving measures at the scene to 31-year-old Zachery Wray, of 1319 O St., but he died from internal injuries.
Wray, who was driving a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix owned by Mark Weakly of Indianapolis, was traveling south on Mitchell Road at a high-rate of speed and passing another vehicle in the right lane when he lost control of the car.
The car crossed the center line and collided with a 1999 Chevrolet pickup driven by 56-year-old David Brock of Bedford.
Brock was trapped inside of his pickup, but told police that Wray's vehicle had crossed the center line into his lane of travel and collided with his pickup truck. Brock said there was nothing he could do to avoid the collision.
Brock suffered internal injures and was flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Louisville for treatment. No update on his condition was available.
