(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman was arrested Tuesday night after a neighbor called police saying she was abusing an 11-year-old boy in the 1000 block of North Illinois Street.
The child told police Woods dragged him around by the back of his t-shirt and restricting his breathing.
The child was able to escape and run to the neighbors.
Police say 43-year-old Angela Woods went to the neighbor's home and attempted to grab the child by his shirt again. That is when the neighbor tackled Woods and pinned her to the ground until police arrived.
When police arrived Woods denied hurting the child.
Bloomington Police Lt. Dana Cole says Woods was drunk and taking her anger over an argument with her boyfriend out on the child.
Woods was arrested on charges of strangulation and domestic battery. She is being held in the Monroe County Jail on a $2,500 bond.
