Last updated on Monday, May 21, 2018

(PEKIN) - Police recovered the body of a Pekin woman from the Blue River on Saturday afternoon.

Authorities believe she had been in the river for three days since Thursday evening.

According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Jerry Goodin, the body of a deceased female was found in Blue River off Bower's Knob about 4 p.m. Saturday.

Sgt. Goodin says two men riding four-wheelers discovered the body. They also noticed a vehicle located parked on the bank of the river close to the river.

An autopsy on Sunday morning identified the female as 31-year-old Christina E. Collins from East Noland Road in Pekin.

The autopsy showed no signs of a struggle, drowning or trauma - cause of death has not yet been determined. Toxicology results are pending and could take up to six weeks to be completed.

With the findings in the investigation so far, detectives do not believe foul play is involved.

The death remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sellersburg Indiana State Police post or the Washington County Sheriff's Department.
