(MONTGOMERY) - The cause of a fire that destroyed the D&G Timber at 5878 County Road 900 East in Montgomery is still undetermined.
The lost of the milling building and equipment at the building is estimated at more than $2 million. The business makes railroad ties, pallets and crane mats.
Madison, Odon, Elnora, Montgomery, Cannelburg, Plainville and Washington Township Fire Departments responded to a fully engulfed building at a timber business Tuesday morning at 1:45 a.m.
Madison Fire Department Spokesman Greg Clark says no one was in the building at the time of the fire. Officials say the last person left the building at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Firefighters were on scene until 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Firefighters returned a couple of hours later to battle hotspots that rekindled.
