(COLUMBUS) - Columbus Police arrested a an Tuesday after he allegedly stole a car, crashed into a house and then fled on foot before being captured.
Lt. Matt Harris, spokesman for the police department, says that at approximately 12:38 p.m. they saw a stolen Honda Accord traveling at a high-rate of speed in the area of Hinman Street and Indiana Avenue.
The stolen car just missed colliding with a Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department's patrol car before crashing into a house on South Hinman Street.
The driver, 26-year-old Cameron Sampson, exited the car and fled on foot and was apprehended a short distance from the accident site.
The house suffered minor injuries.
Sampson was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on charges of auto theft, leaving the scene of an accident and resisting arrest.
