(BEDFORD) - Service Recognitions and additions to the Hoosier Hills Credit Union (HHCU) Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee were among the topics covered during the Credit Union’s Annual Meeting May 16th.
The meeting opened with Proclamations recognizing the service of Richard "Max" Wright and Beth Terrell. Wright served the Credit Union for 23 years, most recently as a member of the Board of Directors, before his passing in February. Terrell recently retired from the Board after serving for 22 years.
Keith Wilkinson, a member of the HHCU Supervisory Committee, was elected by acclamation to fill the Board of Directors seat opened with Beth Terrell's retirement.
Janie Craig Chenault will join the Supervisory Committee in May, filling Wilkinson's open seat on the Supervisory Committee. Chenault's experience includes more than 35 years as a local business owner, in addition to legislative activism on behalf of Credit Unions.
April Glenn, Jay Brown, and Bryan Johnson were all elected to new three-year terms on the Supervisory Committee. Glenn has served on the Supervisory Committee since 1990. Brown and Johnson began their service at the beginning of this year upon the expansion of the Supervisory Committee to five seats. Johnson is the owner of Riverview Farms in Orange County. Brown is an engineer at NSWC Crane.
William "Bill" Miller, who has served as an HHCU volunteer since 1969, was re-elected to the Board for a new three-year term and is soon to begin his 50th year of service to Hoosier Hills Credit Union. Gary Faubion of the HHCU Board of Directors was recognized for having reached his 45th year of service.
Hoosier Hills Credit Union is guided by a Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. The Board of Directors sets policies, helps plan strategic direction and ensures the safety and soundness of the Credit Union. The Supervisory Committee is responsible for overseeing external audits of Credit Union safety and soundness, in addition to internal audits. Each Board and Supervisory Committee member serves the Credit Union and its members on a volunteer basis.
