(BLOOMINGTON) - A 14-year-old Jackson Creek Middle School student was referred to juvenile probation after threatening a fellow classmate with a screwdriver Tuesday.
According to police, the female held a screwdriver to the throat of a 13-year-old male and said "If I were to push this in your throat, you would be squirting out blood."
The threat reportedly happened near the end of the school day in a small room in the middle school. That is where the female found the screwdriver.
No teachers were present until one walked in at the end of the incident and then alerted police.
The boy was not injured during the incident.
Police say the two students have known each other since third grade. The girl told police she never intended to harm the boy.
She is now facing charges of misdemeanor battery.
