(MONROE CO.) - Indiana Conservation Officers arrested a knife-wielding man and a female on Tuesday on multiple charges.
Police arrested 20-year-old Jacob Ferguson of Indianapolis on charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of meth and battery on a police officer. Also arrested was 25-year-old Kyla Terrell of Ellettsville on charges of possession of meth and marijuana.
Just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Indiana Conservation Officer Kurt Kinser responded to a suspicious-person call on Mission Valley Lane outside of Bloomington.
Kinser encountered Ferguson who was armed with a large knife and aggressively approaching him. Shortly afterward, Terrell exited the woods, also armed with a large knife. Both were ordered to drop the weapons which they did.
Kinser observed suspected meth and told Ferguson he was under arrest. While placing Ferguson under arrest he attempted to strike Officer Kinser and then fled on foot. The officer gave chase, deployed a Taser, and was able to effectively subdue Ferguson.
Police discovered Terrell also was in possession of meth and she too was arrested
Multiple agencies responded, including the Monroe County Sheriff's Department, Bloomington Police Department, Indiana Conservation Officers, and Indiana State Police.
