(BEDFORD) - A Mitchell man was arrested on Friday on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery and public intoxication after he allegedly injured a woman during a fight in a parking lot on Fifth Street.
According to Lawrence County police, officers were called to a home on Spencer Pike Road in Springville after a woman called to say she had been in a fight with 37-year-old Michael Webb and he had injured her during a fight in Bedford.
Police say the woman's shirt had been ripped and she had red marks on her chest. The woman told police Webb pushed her against a car causing her to fall. He then grabbed her by the shirt ripping it and pulled her up and then threw her back to the ground.
The woman signed a battery affidavit and Webb was arrested. He was transported to the Lawrence County where he posted a $305 cash bond Sunday and was released.
The state has filed notice of intent to seek enhanced penalty because of a prior conviction. A no contact order with the victim was also issued.
