(CRANE) - Lisa Oswald, a Public Affairs Specialist at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), was announced as the 2017 Thompson-Ravitz (T-R) Junior Civilian Public Affairs Specialist of the Year.

The Thompson-Ravitz awards are selected by the Chief of Naval Information and are recognized as premier awards throughout the entire U.S. Navy.
"It is an absolute honor to receive this level of recognition from the Navy's Chief of Information," Oswald said. "I'm very proud to serve our warfighters in the capacity I do and I take great pride in being part of the innovative communications efforts right here at NSWC Crane."
The T-R awards recognize the exceptional work in communication program research, planning, execution and evaluation by individuals and communication teams throughout the Navy, and reflect the highest qualities of the communications community.
This year's T-R awards featured the largest number of submissions to date, making this award that much more special.
"Lisa's work has been essential to the success of our entire communications team," said Dr. Sandy Zehr, NSWC Crane's Director of Corporate Communications. "This award is the ultimate validation of the work Lisa and our team performs every day in support of the warfighter, and it demonstrates NSWC Crane's investment in a communications staff that is paving a new path and establishing best practices."
NSWC Crane is a naval laboratory and a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) with focus areas in Expeditionary Warfare, Strategic Missions and Electronic Warfare. NSWC Crane is responsible for multi-domain, multi- spectral, full life cycle support of technologies and systems enhancing capability to today's warfighter.
