(UNIONTOWN) - For the second time in less than seven months, firefighters battled a blaze at the former recycling site near Uniontown.
Firefighters from five volunteer fire departments (Crothersville-Vernon, Grassy Fork, Jackson Washington, Redding and Brownstown) responded around 6 p.m. Friday to the former Helt Enterprises Recycling at 10770 East County road 125 South.
Because of high temperatures - in the 80s and the heat from the fire, firefighters had to route battling the blaze.
Crothersville Vernon Township Deputy Chief Ben Spencer says the state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire which is suspicious in nature.
The last fire at the sight was in November and firefighters were on the scene six hours the first day and 16 hours on day two of the blaze.
