(SEYMOUR) - A Seymour man was arrested on arson and other charges early Sunday morning.
Jackson County Police arrested 31-year-old Tyson Marshall on felony charges of arson and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a firearm. The arrest happened at Marshall's grandmother's home near the Bartholomew County. He is being held in the Jackson County Jail without bond.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Carothers say the investigation is still open and other charges could be pending.
Marshall is accused of setting the fire on Saturday that destroyed the home of David Rust Jr. at 10942 North County Road 25 East in Hamilton Township.
Rust was not home when the fire started.
Sheriff Carothers says witnesses at the scene told police they saw Marshall walking away from the burning home.
Police say Marshall and Rust do know each other, but Rust told police he didn't know why Marshall would want to set his house on fire.
