(BEDFORD) - The 53rd annual Rock, Gem and Mineral Show begins today and runs through Sunday at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.
The event sponsored by the Lawrence County Rock Club is free to attend.
More than 80 vendors from more than 30 states will feature rocks, minerals, gems, fossils, collecting and lapidary arts.
Doors open Friday at 10 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Saturday from 9 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday.
In addition, the club promotes a junior rockhound program, offering youths the chance to explore the world of fossils, gems, and minerals. Children will receive a bag of rocks that include fossils, a geode and other agates and polished stones.
Attendees will draw a wealth of information from experienced mineral and fossil collectors and other geological experts.
The event features a silent auction and food vendors.
