(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police arrested a man after he allegedly robbed the Village Pantry on Friday night.
Police arrested 25-year-old Reginald Coffie, just 7 hours after he robbed the Village Pantry at 275 East Winslow Road.
Officers were called to the business around midnight after the clerk reported that a black male entered the store and acted like he had a weapon and demanded the clerk give him all they money.
The clerk gave the male the money and he fled the store on foot.
The clerk told police he believed he knew who the male was and was able to provide a description.
A police K-9 unit was called and was able to locate some of the suspect's clothing, which was lying in a pile near the store.
Around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, an officer found Coffie, walking near Third Street and College Avenue. Coffie was detained after officer found him with the money he had robbed from the store.
Police did not find a weapon.
Coffie was charged with robbery and transported to the Monroe County Jail.
