(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after police say he choked a woman while she held her 7-month-old daughter.
Bloomington Police arrested 27-year-old Randy Hornaday II on charges of domestic battery and strangulation.
Police were called to the 920 block of North Illinois Street on Friday morning after a report of what sounded like a physical domestic fight.
When police arrived they found a 22-year-old woman walking with her 7-month-old daughter. The woman told police Hornaday had choked her twice during their argument.
She told police the incident happened after she woke Hornaday and asked him to go buy formula for their daughter. Hornaday got angry and began yelling and threw a bottle of water at her. He then allegedly pushed the woman against the wall and began choking her. She told police she was holding their daughter during the struggle
A 15-year-old who witnessed the incident told police he saw Hornaday then grab the woman by the hair and pull her to the floor where he then again placed his hands around the woman's neck, choking her.
Hornaday was arrested and the Department of Child Services was alerted.
