(BLOOMINGTON) - Night time paving operations will begin in the southern section of the I-69 Section 5 construction zone tonight and will continue for the next 10 nights, weather permitting.
Crews will be placing surface pavement on both mainline and on and off ramps from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists will encounter intermittent closures of some ramps as the paving crews make the final connections to SR 37. Paving work is anticipated to begin in the south and move north. Interchanges that will be affected include Fullerton Pike, Tapp Road, 2nd Street (SR 45) and 3rd Street (SR 48).
Law enforcement will be on site to assist with traffic control and ramp closures. Motorists are urged to pay attention to changing traffic conditions and potential ramp closures during the overnight paving operations. Only one interchange at a time will be impacted.
All construction activity is weather dependent and the schedule is subject to change.
