Bloomington Woman Arrested After Traffic Stop In Greene County

(BLOOMFIELD) - A Bloomington woman was arrested after she was stopped for a traffic violation in Greene County.

Bloomfield Police arrested 36-year-old Rebecca Turner on charges of possession of meth, unlawful possession of a syringe and identity deception and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An officer stopped a vehicle Turner was a passenger in on Monday at 11:16 p.m. after spotting she had a false registration plate.

During the traffic top, Turner identified herself to police as 34-year-old Melisa Davis. They learned later she had lied.

Police received permission to search the 2007 Pontiac G6 and asked if there were any needles in the vehicle. Turner told police there was a blue bag in the back seat that contained needles, but they didn't belong to her. The officer couldn't locate the bag, with Turner saying someone must have taken the bag.

During a search of the vehicle, the officer finally located the bag with contained 18 syringes, a smoking device, a broken smoking device and three cut straws with a white powder residue on them which tested positive of meth.

The driver told police Turner had lied about her identity and the blue bag did belong to Turner.

Police again approached Turner and she admitted she had lied about her identity and admitted the blue bag belonged to her.

Turner was arrested. Police then discovered she was also wanted on a warrant in Monroe County for theft, possession of a legend drug and forgery.
