(UNDATED) - This year marks the 26th year that Hoosier Uplands has given scholarships to local graduating high school seniors from Crawford, Lawrence, Martin, Orange and Washington counties.
"One $1,400 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from each of the 11 high schools in the five counties we serve," says Ginger Knight, Director of Administrative Services/Coordinator of Hoosier Uplands Scholarship Program. "This year, 11 scholarships have been awarded bring the total scholarships since 1993 to 220 with a total of $298,550."
Chosen to receive the Hoosier Uplands scholarships for 2018 are:
Crawford County:
Crawford County High School - Makayla Parks
Lawrence County:
Bedford North Lawrence High School - Chelsey Schofield
Mitchell High School - Adam Goen
Martin County:
Loogootee High School - Elizabeth Stoll
Shoals High School - Haylee Davis
Orange County:
Orleans High School - Owen Jenkins
Paoli High School - Rachel Lowe
Springs Valley High School - Sydney Emmons
Washington County:
Eastern High School - Hannarose Sorrells
Salem High School - Carly Morris
West Washington High School - Tori Bolton
These students will be recognized at a reception before and following the July 17, Board of Director's meeting.
