(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested after police were flagged down by a female saying she had been injured in a domestic fight.
Lawrence County dispatchers received a 911 hang-up call at 1:55 p.m. Sunday from a home in the 2740 block of Spice Valley Road. A deputy responded and was flagged down by a female two blocks from the home.
"The officer then found that this was a victim of a battery from the 911 hang-up call," says Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults.
The woman told police she had gone to the home to pick up a 6-year-old child. Once inside the home there was an argument between the victim and 28-year-old Seth Blackwell.
"The victim reported that she was choked by Mr. Blackwell after being thrown on a couch and held down, causing a noticeable handprint around her throat, " says Chief Deputy Shoults.
Police arrested Blackwell on charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor and strangulation.
