(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested after a woman claims he attempted to rape her in a pull-off area on State Road 60 West on Saturday.
Lawrence County Police arrested Kevin Dyke on charges of attempted rape, criminal confinement, intimidation and two counts of domestic battery.
According to a Lawrence County Superior Court II probable cause affidavit, police were dispatched to a pull-off area on State Road 60 West at Beaver Creek Road after a woman called saying she was being held against her will.
When the officers arrived they found a black Dodge truck with both doors open and a man standing behind a woman who was crying and had her pants down.
The woman pulled up her pants when the officer walked toward the truck.
The woman told police Dyke "found her" on State Road 60 West. She told police Dyke kept trying to make sexual advances toward her, even though she did not want him to touch her.
Dyke told police he had texted the woman earlier in the day and they were now "talking like adults."
Dyke was arrested and is being held in the Lawrence County jail on a $50,000 surety, or $5,005 cash bond.
