(BROWN CO.) - Two utility providers in Brown County are preparing to go to court after failing to reach a settlement.
Indiana Public Media reports, they're battling over who gets to provide utilities to a multi-million dollar development.
The case is moving forward after months of stalled discussions. Court documents cite an impasse in negotiations over a settlement between the Nashville Town Council and Brown County Water Utility, Inc. Both claim to have the right to service the development owned by Quaff On! Brewing Company located on Firecracker Hill.
Brown County Water Utility filed a lawsuit saying the town is encroaching on what the provider claims is its service area.
Earlier this year, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission approved Nashville's move to provide service to the property.
Court documents indicate the case will be heard in January of next year.
