(WASHINGTON) - A Washington woman was arrested after a theft investigation on Monday afternoon.
Washington Police were informed about a purse taken from a vehicle parked at the Tractor Supply in Washington.
Police say the suspect took one purse and left another and then fled the scene in a vehicle.
Police reports say 44-year-old Amy Roe was arrested for the crime after police responded to a hit and run accident on Wayside Drive. Roe had allegedly struck a mailbox and left behind the vehicle's side mirror at the scene.
Roe was arrested on charges of theft, resisting law enforcement and leaving the scene of an accident and booked into the Daviess County Jail where she is being held without bond.
