(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man died after crashing his motorcycle at the intersection of Woodcrest Drive and East Third Street on Tuesday morning.
24-year-old Daniel Fox died from his injuries at IU Health Hospital.
The accident was reported at 8:18 a.m.
According to a Bloomington Police, a 62-year-old woman driving a Lexus SUV was traveling west on Third Street and was at the flashing yellow light at the intersection and was attempting to make a turn south on Woodscrest Drive.
The woman told police she waited for an eastbound Bloomington Transit to pass before entering the intersection. She told police she didn't see the eastbound motorcycle.
Fox was traveling eastbound on a Suzuki GSX-R and collided into the passenger side of the SUV. Fox was not wearing a helmet during the incident.
The accident remains under investigation, and police plan to review video surveillance footage from the bus and from businesses in the area.
The intersection was closed for more than three hours while police investigated the accident.
