(UNDATED) - Two popular recreation areas on the Tell City Ranger District of the Hoosier National Forest will undergo pavement maintenance work over the next two weeks.
On Tuesday and Wednesday asphalt patching is scheduled to occur on Celina Lake Road at the Indian-Celina Lake Recreation Area and the Jackpine camping loop at the Tipsaw Recreation Area. Both areas are off State Highway 37, south of Interstate 64 in Perry County.
In addition, beginning July 16 asphalt rejuvenation will occur on Tipsaw Road and Celina Lake Road. This work is expected to take four to five days to complete.
Also during the week of July 16, the Forest Supervisor's office, at 811 Constitution Avenue in Bedford, will have the parking area repaved.
Temporary lane closures will be required during these pavement projects, but the roads and office will remain open.
The schedule is weather dependent, and in the event of wet pavement, the work will be rescheduled. The public is encouraged to continue using these popular recreation areas, and visit the Bedford office during paving.
Please contact the Hoosier National Forest at 812-275-5987 (Bedford) or 812-547-7051 (Tell City) for more information or questions.
