(BLOOMINGTON) - On Tuesday, July 10 from 5-7 p.m., residents will have their first opportunity to take a look at the recently acquired Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) rescue vehicle.
Delivered Sunday, the new addition to the City of Bloomington's fleet is being decaled in preparation for Tuesday's public display at the Switchyard Park Operations Building, 1611 South Rogers Street. CIRT members will be on hand during the event to exhibit the vehicle and discuss the conditions under which the team will use it to keep community members safe.
Oversight of the vehicle's use has been established by a resolution passed by the Board of Public Safety June 19 and an ordinance passed by the City Council June 27. These documents will govern the situations in which it can be deployed, where it can be deployed, who authorizes its use, the conditions required to deploy the accessory equipment, and the post-incident reporting procedures.
Tuesday's event is open to the public. On approaching the location, visitors will see the large Switchyard Park sign on the fence by the entrance to the parking lot and "event parking" signs.
